NAPPANEE — Louise F. Robison, 89, 401 N. Main St. Apt. 11, died Tuesday at 2:28 p.m. at IU Health Goshen Hospital, where she had been a patient since April 1.

She was born Feb. 29, 1924 in Wakarusa and was a lifetime area resident.

She married Albert “Lefty” Leroy Robison May 8, 1943, in Nappanee. He preceded her in death June 1, 2006.

She had been active with the Elder Haus where she loved to play cards and take local trips with residents from the Main Street Apartments. She loved flowers and gardening, playing cards with her friends and family, Cubs baseball and any basketball. She was a spunky little lady who loved life.

She is survived by her daughters Sherry (Walt) Stankovich of Goshen, and Rhonda Dinda of Cape Coral, Fla.; five grandchildren, Eric (Nikki) Adams of Tennessee, Amy (Jim) Checkley of Elkhart, Tim (Jill) Stankovich of Wakarusa, Lori (Paul) Alvex of Osceola, and Jason (Nicole) Tracey of Florida; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.

Friends and family may call Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the 10:30 a.m. funeral service Friday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee. The Rev. Sam Bennett of the First Church of God in Nappanee will officiate.

Burial will follow at Union Center Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association.

There has been discussion at West Goshen Elementary School to require mandatory student uniforms in the future. How do you feel about the prospect of mandatory student uniforms in a public school environment?

I think it’s an excellent idea that is way overdue
I think it’s a bad idea and would be restrictive for students and parents.
