— Haines City, Fla. — Madeline L. Yoder 96, died Wednesday at Haines City Health Care.

She was born Oct. 4, 1916 in Lafayette, Ind., to Thornton and Edna (Mahorter) Workinger.

On Sept. 18, 1937, she married Donald L. Yoder in Attica, Ind.  He preceded her in death Nov. 2, 1999.

Madeline is survived by two daughters, Patricia (David) Falk, Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, and Susan (Robert) McClew, Winter Haven; a son, James T. Yoder, Noblesville, Ind.; nine grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; seven step great-grandchildren; and two step great-great-grandchildren.

A 1937 graduate of Indiana University, she was associated with Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She owned and operated Yoder’s Budget Shop in Goshen, Ind., from 1953 to 1983 and was a member of Tri Kappa Sorority.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Winter Haven.

Cremation has taken place.  A private graveside service will be held at Violett Cemetery, Goshen, Ind., at a later date.

Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen, is handling arrangements.
