Ephraim Lamar Pletcher

GOSHEN — Ephraim Lamar Pletcher, 92, died Sunday at 10 p.m. at Greencroft Goshen Health Care.

He was born Oct. 16, 1921 in Elkhart, to George and Myrtle (Bechtel) Pletcher.

He married Berdene Esther Harter Nov. 20, 1943. She died Dec. 20, 1996.

He is survived by his six children, Stanley (Linda) Pletcher, New Paris, Roger (Lynn) Pletcher, Elkhart, Keith (Marian) Pletcher, Middlebury, Karen (Ken) Winklepleck, Burr Oak, Mich., Ronald (Susan) Pletcher, Goshen, and Dennis Pletcher, Wakarusa; sister, Rosie (Lowell) Lambright, Middlebury; brother, Jerry (Maxine) Pletcher, Goshen; sister-in-law, Ocella Pletcher, Elkhart; 47 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Morris (Lucille) Pletcher and Luke Pletcher; and a sister, Clara (Leon) Rupp.

He was a farmer and a member of Mount Joy Mennonite Church, Goshen. He served on the Mennonite Central Committee meat canning committee for many years.

Friends may call Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret-Lienhart Funeral Home, Wakarusa, and one hour prior to the 10 a.m. funeral service Friday at Olive Mennonite Church. The Rev. Ben Shirk of Mount Joy and the Rev. Paul Newcomer will officiate.

Burial will be at Olive West Cemetery.
