GOSHEN — Phyllis Whitney, 88, formerly of Dixon, Ill., died Sunday at The Maples at Waterford Crossing.
She was born Nov. 4, 1925, in Coleta, Ill., to Ralph and Stella (Bush) Pyse.
On Feb. 2, 1946, she married Roy Whitney in Oregon, Ill. He died in 1984.
She is survived by two daughters, Diane (Jim) Dague, Goshen, and Becky (Lance) Walter, Amboy, Ill.; a son, Tom (Kathy) Whitney, Bloomington, Ill.; six grandchildren, Erin Griffin, Erica (Brad) Nugent, Liz (Brian) Wogoman, Nathan Whitney, Jessica Walter and Matt Walter; and 10 great-grandchildren, Cameron Griffin, Caleb Griffin, Kedzie Griffin, Whitney Nugent, Tristan Nugent, Lincoln Wogoman, Smith Wogoman, Whitney Wogoman, Spencer Wogoman and Everett Walter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Raymond Pyse; and four sisters, Genevieve Fritz, Louella Wagenecht, Ravina Pyse and Bernadine Canfield.
She was a lifetime resident of Dixon and a member of the Dixon St. James United Methodist Church. She worked in the billing department at KSB Hospital, Dixon.
A memorial service will take place at a later date.
Burial will be at Lighthouse United Methodist Church Cemetery, Oregon, Ill.
