LAGRANGE — Daniel D. Schrock, 88, and formerly of Shipshewana, died at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Millers Merry Manor, LaGrange.
He was born Sept. 6, 1925 in Middlebury, to Jonas J. and Sylvia (Miller) Schrock.
On Oct. 30, 1954 in Emma Church, he married Alice Shetler; she survives.
Survivors in addition to his wife are two sons, Donald Duane Schrock and Dale A. (Sandy) Schrock, both of Nampa, Idaho; a granddaughter, Nicole Renae Schrock, Nampa, Idaho; three sisters, Anna Chupp of Arthur, Ill., Fannie (Rueben) Miller of Sullivan, Ill., and Lena (David) Schrock of Arthur, Ill.. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Jacob and Joseph Schrock.
Daniel was a member of the Shore Mennonite Church, Shipshewana, and worked as a truck driver most of his life. He worked for Zook Trucking for many years and then for Yoder Farm and Feed in Topeka from 1984 until retiring in 1991. He did Amish taxi work in his retirement.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Shore Mennonite Church, 7235 W 100 North Shipshewana. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Carl Horner.
Burial will be in Shore Cemetery.
