GOSHEN — Charles W. “Billy” Nichols, formerly of Topeka, passed away Saturday at IU Health Goshen Hospital at the age of 53. He was born Sept. 24, 1960.
He is survived by his mother, Charla Fought of Topeka; two sisters, Sharla (Mark) Thompson of Topeka, and Rhonda (Bryon) Morgan of LaGrange; nieces, Hillaree (Miles) Liston of Orlando, Fla., and Britney Morgan of Bronson, Mich.; nephews, Lincoln (Caressa) Thompson of Shipshewana, and Drost Morgan of LaGrange; three great nieces and nephews, Haylee, Mackenzee, and Lex.
He was preceded in death by his birth father, William Nichols and his dad, Dennis Fought; and grandparents, Roy and Dena Chatfield.
Billy was a resident of Goshen Men’s Group Home. He loved to go fishing, canoe and listen to music. He was very proud to be an American and loved our flag.
Family and friends will be received Monday from 2 to the 4 p.m. funeral service for Billy at Topeka United Methodist Church. The Rev. Tamra Gerber will officiate.
Burial will follow at Eden Cemetery in Topeka.
