ELKHART — Luella May Nichols, 57, formerly of Goshen, died Monday at 4:55 p.m. at Elkhart General Hospital.
She was born May 26, 1957 in Goshen, to Warren F. and Alice R. (Kinsman) Nichols.
She is survived by her sisters, Jane (Jon) Weaver, Osceola, Priscilla (Jerry) McKelvey, Goshen, and Dawn (Timothy) Garman, Granger; brothers, W. Joel Nichols, Goshen, and Stanley H. (Maurita) Nichols, Goshen; and her guardian, Cheryl Schade, Elkhart.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father.
After graduating from Horizon Learning Center, she received services from ADEC where she worked at ADEC Industries and participated in Bristol Day Services. She lived with family until 1992, when she moved into Mosaic Residential Service.
She also participated in the Special Olympics and AKTION Club. For a period of time, she worked for Red Lobster in Elkhart. She attended Highland Baptist Church, Elkhart, and South Bend First Church of the Nazarene.
There will be one hour of visitation prior to the 11 a.m. funeral service Saturday at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Goshen. The Rev. Arnold Dietz will officiate.
Burial will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen.
