MIDDLEBURY — June L. Hostetler, 84, died at 6:39 p.m. Thursday at Elkhart General Hospital, from complications from surgery earlier in the day.
She was born June 15, 1929 in Chicago, Ill,., to Henry and Emily (Brauneis) Van Zuilen.
On March 3, 1951 in Middlebury, she married Frank Hostetler, who survives. Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters, Jeanne Hostetler of Middlebury and Jennifer (Thomas) Mottier of Aurora, Ill.; a son, Monte (Laura) Hostetler of Waldorf, Md.; grandchildren, Tom, Michael, Kathleen and Heather; a great-grandson, Eli; two sisters, Dorothy Herring of Goshen and Darlene (Leland) DePue of Middlebury.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Don Van Zuilen.
June earned bachelor’s degree in orthopedics from Northeastern Illinois University in 1978. She was a school nurse at Shipshe-Scott School from 1963-65; worked at the student health centers of Indiana University, Bloomington; Western Illinois University; North Texas State University; and Northwestern University from May 1965 until 1973. June was then employed in doctor’s offices for 22 years.
She enjoyed camping, travel and reading. She had been a summer camp nurse at Epworth Forest Summer Church Camp at Lake Webster for three years.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 S. Main St. Middlebury.
Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Shore Mennonite Church in Shipshewana. Services will be conducted by Pastor Carl Horner.
Burial will be in Shore Cemetery, Shipshewana.
Memorials may be given to Rainbow Years Learning Center.
