GOSHEN — Lilly Marie Holsomback, 94, died Thursday at 3 p.m.
She was born Nov. 9, 1919 in Kimberly, Ala., to Walter and Pearl (Wardrup) Armstrong.
She married Raymond Holsomback March 31, 1934. The couple had five children and moved to Elkhart in 1951.
She is survived by her two sons, Carl (Julia) Holsomback, Royal, Ark., and Lewis (Beverly) Holsomback, Arlington, Texas; three daughters, Rachel (Marvin) Yoder and Elsie Foster, both of Goshen, and Linda Frey, Elkhart; 20 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; 27 great-great grandchildren; and a brother, Clark (Bea) Armstrong, Warrior, Ala.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, who died Dec. 24, 1967; and two brothers, Jesse and Walter Armstrong.
She worked as a cook at Elkhart General Hospital and was a member of Missionary Baptist Church, Warrior, Ala. She enjoyed reading, traveling and word searches.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 9:30 a.m. until the 10:30 a.m. funeral service Monday at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret-Lienhart Funeral Home, 117 W. Waterford St., Wakarusa. Marvin Yoder, son-in-law of the deceased, will lead the service.
Burial will be at Olive West Cemetery.
