SYRACUSE — John LaTour Jr., 75, died Tuesday at Select Specialty Hospital in Fort Wayne.

He is survived by his wife, Penny LaTour, Syracuse; two sons, Fred and James LaTour; four daughters, Jolinda Brown, Jenny Hathaway, Star Jones and Julie Kestner; and three stepdaughters, Vanessa Earl, Star Tyson and Doshia Singer.

No services are planned; his body will be cremated.

Eastlund Funeral Home, Syracuse took care of arrangements.

There has been discussion at West Goshen Elementary School to require mandatory student uniforms in the future. How do you feel about the prospect of mandatory student uniforms in a public school environment?

I think it’s an excellent idea that is way overdue
I think it’s a bad idea and would be restrictive for students and parents.
