Sandra Kay (Foos) Pollock

GOSHEN — Sandra Kay (Foos) Pollock, 74, Riverside Boulevard, died at 5 a.m. Sunday at Courtyard Healthcare, Goshen.

She was born April 12, 1939 in Goshen, to Shirl and Lois (Hapner) Foos.

She married Donald L. Pollock Nov. 15, 1959, at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Donald; son, Brad (Faith) Pollock, Goshen; daughters, Kristal (Robert) Slovinski, Jimtown, Karla (David) Slovinski, Dunlap, and Darla (Rob) Ward, Cassopolis, Mich.; sister, Roberta Jane Ratliff, Elkhart; brother, Robert (Pat) Foos, Cape Coral, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Preceding her in death were a sister, Shirley Miller; and a stepgranddaughter, Krystal Slovinski.

Sandra was a 1957 graduate of Goshen High School and remained a lifelong supporter of GHS sports. She worked as the manager of Speedway in Goshen from 1978 to 1986 and was co-owner of Maple’s Fine Dining with her son, Brad. She was also a Blue Bird Campfire Leader; women’s softball coach; charter member of the Dandy Doubles Mothers of Twins Club; and a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church.

Friends may call Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at one hour prior to the 10 a.m. service Thursday at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Goshen. The Rev. Dick Rinearson will officiate.

Burial will be in West Goshen Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to St. Mark’s United Methodist Church.

There has been discussion at West Goshen Elementary School to require mandatory student uniforms in the future. How do you feel about the prospect of mandatory student uniforms in a public school environment?

I think it’s an excellent idea that is way overdue
