Laverne Linville

July 5, 1940-Nov. 7, 2013

NAPPANEE — Laverne Linville, 73, died after a short illness at 2:20 p.m. Thursday at Courtyard Healthcare Center in Goshen.

She was born July 5, 1940 in Pasacola, Mo., to Frank H. and Olli B. (Bowers) Duncan. On Oct. 19, 1957, she married Joseph T. Linville in Nappanee. He preceded her in death June 25, 2013.

Laverne lived most of her life in this area. She had worked at Vitreous in Nappanee and LuAnn Nursing Home. She attended New Beginnings Assembly of God. Laverne loved her grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons, Dennis (Teresa) Linville and Ron (Nancy) Linville, both of Nappanee; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and her sisters, Ann Severs, Lebanon, Ill., Linda (John) Jones, Elkhart.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Cindy Sawyer, who died Aug. 12; brothers, Melvin, Frank, Norman and William Duncan; and a sister, Evelyn Grow.

Family and friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, where funeral services are set to take place at 2 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Michael Tomlinson will officiate.

Burial will be in Union Center Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to United Cancer Services of Elkhart County or Harbor Light Hospice.
