Marvin ‘Dutch’ Miller

MOROCCO, Ind. — Marvin “Dutch” Miller, 95, of Morocco, passed away Saturday at George Ade Memorial Care Center, Brook. Marvin was born April 10, 1918, in Colfax Township, Newton County, Ind., to the late Noah and Sarah (Frey) Miller.On Sept. 20, 1941, Marvin married Lydia Mae (Schmucker). She passed away on Aug. 2, 2001. On Aug. 25, 2002 at Burr Oak Mennonite Church, Marvin married Helen Kemp. She survives. Marvin was a life-time farmer. He was a member and devoted elder of Burr Oak Mennonite Church, Rensselaer. From 1967 to 1985, Marvin served on the board of Production Credit Association, Lafayette. Marvin was devoted to his family and was an avid bowler. He bowled on many leagues throughout his life.Marvin is survived by his loving wife, Helen (Madison) Miller; one daughter, Marilyn Jo Myers of Morocco; a stepson, Gary (Carrie) Kemp of Morocco; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one brother, Noah Miller Jr., of Rochester Hills, Mich. Marvin is preceded in death by his parents; one son and daughter-in-law, Larry (Miriam Elizabeth Neff) Miller; one son-in-law, Mike Myers; two stepgrandchildren; two sisters, Wilma Harrison and Ida Miller; and two brothers, John and Wayne Miller.Friends may visit with the family Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. CST at the Burr Oak Mennonite Church, Rensselaer. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. CST at Burr Oak Mennonite Church of Rensselaer, with Pastor Philip Leichty officiating. Burial will follow in Burr Oak Mennonite Cemetery, Rensselaer. Memorials may be made to Burr Oak Mennonite Church, Rensselaer. See www.jacksonfuneral.com.
