Marilyn “Sue” Wolferman, 81, Milford, died Wednesday at her residence; Mishler Funeral Home, Milford

LaMar “Smitty” Helmuth, 74, died Wednesday morning at Greencroft Goshen Health Care. Visitation is set for Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen, and one hour prior to the 1 p.m. funeral service Saturday at Nappanee Missionary Church. Other arrangements are pending.

There has been discussion at West Goshen Elementary School to require mandatory student uniforms in the future. How do you feel about the prospect of mandatory student uniforms in a public school environment?

I think it’s an excellent idea that is way overdue
