Robert Eldon Hohl

July 9, 1937-Nov. 30, 2012

MISHAWAKA — Robert E. Hohl, 75, passed away at 9 p.m. Friday at Michiana Health and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born July 9, 1937 in Ashley, to Henry and Erna (Birk) Hohl.

On Aug. 12, 1961, he married Freda Joan Fennell in Greentown. She died March 27, 1989 in South Bend.

He is survived by two sons, Robert (Kelly) Hohl of South Bend and Ronald (Paula) Hohl of Granger; three grandchildren, Samantha, Sean and  Marissa Hohl; and two great-grandchildren; a sister, Virginia (Willard) Allen of Osceola; two brothers, Ralph (Jean) Hohl of Osceola and Steve (Mary) Hohl of California.  

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Marrissa Hohl.

Robert enjoyed gardening and retired in 2002 from Lochmandy Motors.   

Visitation for family and friends will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Zimmerman-Inman Funeral Home, Osceola Chapel.  

Graveside services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Olive West Cemetery. The Rev. Bill Schooler from St. Pius X Catholic Church in Granger will preside.

There has been discussion at West Goshen Elementary School to require mandatory student uniforms in the future. How do you feel about the prospect of mandatory student uniforms in a public school environment?

I think it’s an excellent idea that is way overdue
I think it’s a bad idea and would be restrictive for students and parents.
