NAPPANEE — Katherine “Katie” Miller, 90, 30424 C.R. 146, died peacefully at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at her residence.
She was born March 21, 1923, in Topeka, to Noah and Mary (Whetstone) Hershberger.
She was a member of the Old Order Amish Church and a homemaker. She also worked at Miller’s Greenhouse for over 30 years.
She married LeRoy E.G. Miller Dec. 6, 1945. He preceded her in death Oct. 11, 1998.
Surviving are five daughters, Mary (Elias) Yoder, Colon, Mich., Wilma (Albert) Coblentz, Middlefield, Ohio, Alma (Marvin) Bontrager, Edna (Leland) Yoder, and Barbara (Wayne) Miller, all of Nappanee; two sons, Ezra (Louise) Miller, Nappanee, and Herbert (Mary) Miller, Wakarusa; two sisters, Polly Beechey, Topeka, and Ella (Enos) Knepp, LaGrange; two sisters-in-law, Mary Hershberger, Shipshewana, and Edna Hershberger, LaGrange; 40 grandchildren; 103 great-grandchildren; three adopted great-grandchildren; six stepgreat-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy Miller; her parents; a grandchild; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Mahlon and Perry Hershberger; a sister, Millie Hershberger; and a brother-in-law, Aaron Beechey.
Friends and family may call Thursday after 2 p.m. and all day Friday at the family’s residence. Funeral services will be Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at Joe Troyer’s residence. The Home Ministry of the Old Order Amish Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Weldy Cemetery.
