WAKARUSA — Lyle G. Lynch, 81, formerly of Goshen, died Saturday afternoon at Miller’s Merry Manor in Wakarusa.

He was born Feb. 22, 1932 in Churubusco to Freda (Kern) and William Franklin Lynch.

On Nov. 16, 1957 he married Charlotte Y. (Lawson) in Kendallville.

She died Feb. 26.

Lyle is survived by his four children, Karen Shoup, Dee Lynch, Kenneth Lynch and Michael (Amber) Lynch, all of Goshen; one sister, Adele Kienzler of Albion; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great granchild.

He was preceded in death by his brothers Leon and Duane Lynch.

Lyle served in the military from 1953 to 1956. He worked as an electrician with Whitehall Laboratory of Elkhart for 33 years.

He was a member of Apostolic Pentecostal Church of Goshen and a strong, simple man that loved his family.

Friends and family may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home in Goshen where a 2 p.m. service will be held on Thursday. The Rev. Larry Eysol of the Apostolic Pentecostal Church will officiate.

Burial will be in Violett Cemetery in Goshen,

There has been discussion at West Goshen Elementary School to require mandatory student uniforms in the future. How do you feel about the prospect of mandatory student uniforms in a public school environment?

I think it’s an excellent idea that is way overdue
