---- — NAPPANEE — Devon A. Weaver, 74, died at 4:55 a.m. Friday at his residence after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born Nov. 12, 1939 in Locke, to the late Charles E. and Virginia Fern Domer Weaver.

On Aug. 25, 1957, he married Patricia Sherk in Jeffersonville.

Devon was a lifetime area resident. He was retired after working at Coppes Kitchens, Evangel Press and Wise Furniture, all in Nappanee. He also built and delivered Ambulances for Marque in Goshen.

He was a member of Brethren In Christ Church in Nappanee. Devon loved his grandchildren. He enjoyed stamp collecting, gardening, travel, reading, and bird watching.

Mr. Weaver is survived by his wife, Patricia; daughter, Penny (Rob) Nickerson, Nappanee; sons, Dennis (Virginia) Weaver, South Bend, Doug (Kendrea) Weaver, Nappanee, Duane (Mary) Weaver, Mission, Texas; grandchildren, Stephanie, Bronson, Stacie, Spencer, Colin, Haley, Kathryn Weaver, McGwire, Molly Nickerson; sisters, Delores Culp, Dixie Roeder, Connie Thomas-Rosenberry, all of Nappanee, Carol (Jerry) Sherk, Gladewater, Texas; and brothers, Don Weaver, Charles (Shirley) Weaver, and Jim (Diana) Weaver, all of Nappanee.

Family and friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13 at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee and for one hour prior to the 10:30 a.m. funeral service, Saturday, Dec. 14 at the Brethren in Christ Church. The Rev. Jeff Williams will officiate.

Burial will be in Union Center Cemetery.
