WESTLER LAKE — Betty Jean Garvin, of Westler Lake near Wolcottville, passed away at her home on Monday at the age of 76.

On July 21, 1955, she married Glen Slabach.

She later married Jack Garvin Dec. 17, 1983. He preceded her in death June 1, 2004.

She is survived by three children, Dean Slabach of Syracuse, Tammy (Tom) Janes of Ligonier and Douglas (Dianne) Slabach of Goshen.

Family and friends will be received Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Yeager Funeral Home, Ligonier, where a funeral service will take place Friday at 11 a.m.

Burial will be in West Goshen Cemetery, Goshen.

There has been discussion at West Goshen Elementary School to require mandatory student uniforms in the future. How do you feel about the prospect of mandatory student uniforms in a public school environment?

I think it’s an excellent idea that is way overdue
I think it’s a bad idea and would be restrictive for students and parents.
