Mark Alan Werbianskyj, 55, passed away at 10:30 p.m. Monday at his place of work, Parker Hannifin in Ligonier. Death was due to accidental electrocution.
He was born Nov. 23, 1957 in South Bend, to John and Sandra (Barber) Werbianskyj.
On Aug. 8, 2008, he married Diana M. (Daugherty) Arnold in Elkhart. She survives along with one daughter, Jessica (Steve) Arnold of Sumter, S.C.; granddaughter, Amber Rose Arnold; grandson, Quinn Arnold; four stepchildren, Frank (Kristen) Arnold of Goose Creek, S.C., Michael (Jenna) Arnold of Dallas, Texas, Brooke Arnold of Goose Creek, S.C., and Sarah (Christian) Jalbert of Belleville, Ill.; four stepgrandchildren; his father and stepmother, John and Priscilla Werbianskyj; two brothers, Jon (Cindy) Werbianskyj of Goshen and Greg (Karen) Werbianskyj of Elkhart; two sisters, Sabrina Mullen of Elkhart and Tamara (Calvin) Moore of Pensacola, Fla.; 12 Ukrainian cousins; numerous nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and many more friends he treated like family. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sandra Werbianskyj.
Mark worked in the maintenance department at Parker Hannifin in Ligonier for the past 10 years. He was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan. He loved his pets and enjoyed NHRA, traveling, gardening and playing the card game, Magic, with his family and friends. Mark was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home in Elkhart, where funeral services will take place at 3 p.m. Saturday. Mark’s cousin, the Rev. Deacon Andrew Werbianskyj of St. Luke’s Orthodox Church in Palos Hills, Ill., will preside. Cremation will take place at Elkhart Cremation Services.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Elkhart County Humane Society.
