Paul “Tooter” Stubblefield 66, died Sunday afternoon at IU Health Goshen Hospital. He had been ill the past six months.
He was born July 19, 1946 in Wilson, Ark., to Paul and Myrtle (Whitaker) Stubblefield.
In October 1998, he married Jody Kauffman in Goshen. She survives.
Other survivors include his mother, Myrtle Sartain, Osceola, Ark.; stepmother, Dorothy Stubblefield, Hazel Green, Ala.; stepson, Richie Holdeman, Osceola; two grandchildren, D.J. (Tish) Rhodes, Elkhart, and Deena (T.J.) Stafford, Goshen; four sisters, Linda (Kerry) Edwards, Victoria, Ark., Vicki Naylor, Elkhart, Jenny (Steve) Rice, Warsaw, and Shana Upton, Hazel Green, Ala.; and two brothers, Ronnie (Barb) Stubblefield, Goshen, and Gene Steele, Ligonier.
He was preceded in death by his father and a son, Dwight “Dee” Stubblefield, who died in 2005.
Tooter worked many years in various RV factories doing a variety of jobs. Most recently, he worked at Turtle Top in Goshen. He was a member of the Goshen Eagles. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting, and playing with his dog, Mopzee.
Friends may call today from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen. The Rev. James Shrock of the First Baptist Church of Goshen will officiate.
Burial will follow at Violett Cemetery, Goshen.
