SYRACUSE — Marshall G. “Baldy” Boyer Sr., 76, passed away at 4:30 p.m. Friday at his home.
He was born Feb. 15, 1938 in Warsaw, to Sanford G. and Margaret Mildred “Milly” (Benge) Boyer.
He graduated in 1955 from Macy High School, was a United States Navy Veteran and moved to Syracuse in 1962 from the Macy area.
On Aug. 11, 1962, he married Wilma Nicodemus, who preceded him in death in 1998. On Dec. 15, 2001, he married Sandra K. “Sandy” (Hammer) Drew, who survives.
He was formerly employed at Starcraft in Topeka for 12 years, Commodore Homes in Syracuse, Regent Homes in Syracuse, Fairmont Homes in Nappanee, and Blue Finn Homes in Nappanee.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 223 in Syracuse.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy Boyer, Syracuse; two daughters, Teresa Boyer, Syracuse and Diane (Fred) Shambaugh, Akron; four sons, Marshall Boyer, Milford, Tony (Flora) Boyer, Warsaw, Jim (Deb) Glaze, Pierceton, and Mike Glaze, Decatur; 19 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
He was preceded by his parents, 1st wife & sister.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Brad Cox of the Wawasee Lakeside Chapel officiating. Military rites will be performed by Syracuse American Legion following services at the funeral home.
Private family burial will take place in the Akron Cemetery.
