Darlton Lee Sommers

NEW PARIS —Darlton Lee Sommers, 82, died unexpectedly at 11:04 a.m. Wednesday at his residence.
He was born June 8, 1931 in Kokomo, to Noah and Esther (Strebin) Sommers.
On Sept. 16, 1950, he married Martha Bontrager in Kokomo.
Mr. Sommers moved to New Paris in 1958 from Kokomo. He was a retired dairy farmer and a member of Living Gospel Church in Nappanee.
Darlton is survived by his wife; sons, Dale (Deb) Sommers, Goshen, Dana (Judy) Sommers, Auckland, New Zealand, Steve Sommers and Kent (Kathy) Sommers, both of New Paris; daughters, Deb (C.J.) Bender, Milford, and Anita (Bob) Stutzman, Syracuse; 15 grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren; brothers, Wayne Sommers, Goshen, and Byron (Viola) Sommers, Kokomo; and sisters, Miriam (Pete) Bontrager, Kokomo, and Darlene (Wayne) Miller, Bunker Hill.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Lois Martin; and an infant brother, Dale Leon Sommers.
Family and friends may call Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee.
Memorial Services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at Living Gospel Church in Nappanee. Private family burial will be in New Paris Cemetery.
