Elsie J. Kurtz, 69, passed away Tuesday at her home in Millersburg.
She was born March 31, 1943, to Jacob and Sarah (Schrock) Petershein in LaGrange County.
On Oct. 24, 1963, she married Manelius B. Kurtz. He preceded her in death April 1, 1969.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Elsie is survived by two daughters, Edna Arlene (Vernon) Miller of Millersburg and Ella Mae (Jacob) Troyer of LaGrange; 11 grandchildren; three brothers, Melvin (Ida) Petershein and Orva (Edith) Petershein, both of Topeka, and Samuel (Susie) Petershein, LaGrange; four sisters, Mary (Melvin) Hershberger of Topeka, Ida Mae (Lorenzo) Romero of Goshen, Ruby (Marvin) Graber of LaGrange, and Katie (Perry) Mast of Topeka.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one brother, Elva Petershein; and one sister, LeAnna Miller.
Family and friends will be received all day today at the Vernon Miller residence, 11700 W. 500 South, Millersburg.
A funeral service is set for 9:30 a.m. Friday at the Nelson Slabach residence, 5120 S. 1125 West, Millersburg. Bishop Gerald Miller and the home ministers will officiate.
Burial will follow at Hawpatch Cemetery in Topeka. Pallbearers will be Lonnie Kauffman, Aron Bontrager, Howard Helmuth, David Bontrager, Lyle Hochstetler and Delbert Miller.
