TOPEKA Elmer G. Cross, 73, died early Monday morning at his home.
He was born Jan. 2, 1941 in LaGrange County, to Enos and Mattie (Yoder) Cross.
Mr. Cross was married to Clara Delagrange in 1959 and to Rhonda Clawson in 1984.
He is survived by his ex-wife, Clara; his ex-wife and current companion, Rhonda; five daughters, Julie (John) Stout, Syracuse, Charlotte (Chuck) Sanders, Port Charlotte, Fla., Twila (Bob) Hughes, Nappanee, Glenda Coney, Topeka, and Amanda Cross, Indianapolis; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a sister, Anna (Irvin) Yoder, Goshen; and three brothers, Vernon (Arlene), Leroy (Esther) and Joe (Alpha) Cross, all of Goshen.
He was preceded in death by his parents and stepmother, Sarah Ann Cross; a son, Wilbur “Willie” Cross; granddaughter, Jennifer Zentz; three sisters, Rosa Borntrager, Fannie Cross and Mary Schrock; and two brothers, Daniel and George Cross.
Elmer was a truck driver for Starcraft and worked maintenance for Supreme Corporation. He loved music and enjoyed dancing and singing.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home in Goshen, where a funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. Gary Miller of Maple City Chapel will officiate.
Burial will follow at South Union Cemetery, Nappanee.
