Dr. Galen Eash

FARGO, N.D. — Dr. Galen J. Eash, 74, died Sunday in Sanford Hospital, Fargo.
Galen Jay Eash, the son of Sanford and Orpha (Kauffman) Eash, was born in Goshen, Ind., Sept. 2, 1939. He grew up in Goshen, where he graduated from Bethany Christian High School in 1957 and Goshen College in 1961. He graduated from Jefferson Medical School in Philadelphia, Pa., and served his residency in family practice in St. Paul, Minn.
Galen was married in Goshen to Marlene Grabill Dec. 19, 1958. After Galen completed his residency, the family moved to Casselton, where Dr. Eash started his practice. In 1979, the family moved to Fargo, where Galen practiced until retirement in 2001.
His deep personal Christian faith was evident in all he did. Galen loved his family and truly enjoyed time spent with them. He enjoyed music and especially bike riding. What began as a way to get exercise became a lifelong passion that he enjoyed sharing with others.
Galen is survived by his wife, Marlene, Fargo; daughters, Kristine (Dane) Larsen and Lori (Kevin) Ellingson; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and siblings, Dale (Judy) Eash of Goshen, Marvin (Pam) Eash, Nancy (Vic) Myers and Loren (Barbara Sprenger) Eash of Goshen.
A memorial service will take place Friday at 11 a.m. at Bethel Evangelical Free Church, Fargo.
