GOSHEN — Frances Lucile (Christophel) Stauffer, 102, died at 1:50 p.m. Sunday at Greencroft Goshen Health Care.
She was born Nov. 8, 1911, in Harrison Township in Elkhart County to Elmer and Mary (Hartman) Christophel.
She married Earl R. Stauffer April 4, 1935, at their parents’ home. He died Jan. 2, 2003.
She is survived by her sons, Norman Clair (Marilyn) Stauffer, Waxhaw, N.C., and Loren Alan (Miriam) Stauffer, Goshen; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her husband; parents; brother, Warren Christophel; and a daughter-in-law, Shirley (Fry) Stauffer.
Frances was a 1931 graduate of Goshen Academy, a member of the Waterford Mennonite Church, a homemaker and a seamstress. After she retired she started making quilts for the Mennonite Relief Sale.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Meetinghouse at Greencroft, Goshen. A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Waterford Mennonite Church, 65975 Ind. 15, Goshen. The Revs. Neil Amstutz and Velma Swartz will officiate.
Burial will be in Yellow Creek Cemetery.
