Carolyn Bowens Perea

GOSHEN — Carolyn Bowens Perea, 56, died at her home Sunday afternoon. She had been ill the past year.

She was born Jan. 1, 1957, in Clintwood, Va., to Earl and Martha (Vanover) Bowens.

She married Rene Perea in 2005 in Goshen.

He survives along with a daughter, Linda (Roberto) Garcia, Goshen; three grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and 10 brothers and sisters.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister.

A lifetime Goshen resident, Carolyn worked as a clerk at the Salvation Army, Goshen. She enjoyed going to garage sales, dancing and spending time with her family.

Friends may call Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen, where a funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Mel and Mrs. Edna Shetler will officiate.

Cremation will follow the service and burial will take place at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of Yoder-Culp Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
