Clara June Simpler-Cox

July 29, 1944-April 7, 2013

— GOSHEN — Clara June Simpler-Cox, 68, died early Sunday morning at her home. She had been ill since January.

She was born July 29, 1944 in Wilmington, Del., to James L. and Grace H. (Smith) Heverin.

She married Leroy A. Cox, Aug. 18, 2003 in Oxford, Pa.

He survives along with a son, Robert Lee (Jennifer Ann) Simpler, Mountain City, Tenn.; four stepdaughters, Dawn Smith, Newark, Del., Marney Cox, Mountain City, Tenn., Tammey Cox, Houston, Texas, and Roxanne Lorine, Ga.; two stepsons, Matthew Thomas, Mountain City, Tenn., and Matthew Brooks of Pennsylvania; 14 grandchildren, Crystal, Amber, Tiffany, Brittany, Carmilita, Amanda, Glen, Robby, Skylar, Jordan, Brittany, Jessica, Nicole and Aaron; four great-grandchildren, Dunner, McKenzi, Jasmon and Jeremiah; and two brothers, Richard and Jim Heverin, both of Wilmington, Del.

Clara had an exceptional fondness for animals, especially horses. For much of her life she raised riding horses at her stables in Oxford, Pa. More recently, with her husband, she was raising and training AKC boxer and chihuahua dogs. They were recognized among other breeders as raising animals at the top of their breed. Clara was very exacting in her work following and developing pure pedigree boxer breeds. She had an enormous heart which was given to her husband, family and the animals she so devotedly raised.

She was a great mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a wonderful wife and the best friend a man could ask for. May God keep her in His hands and bless her for the life she led and the person she was.

No public services are planned at this time.

Cremation has taken place at Yoder-Culp Crematory.
