Ethel M. Hoch, 96, died at 3:25 p.m. Sunday at Miller’s Merry Manor East in Wabash.
She was born May 12, 1917, in Wabash County to Bert and Clara (Whitcraft) Campbell. Ethel was a 1935 graduate of Lagro High School.
She was first married Lawrence J. Hamilton Sr., then to Gail King and then to Frank Hoch. All three of her husbands preceded her in death.
She retired from First National Bank in Wabash in 1979 after 30 years. She also worked at Clark’s Finer Foods and the Wabash County Hospital. Ethel was a member of the St. Bernard Catholic Church in Wabash since 1942.
She is survived by seven children, Fred (Linda) Hamilton of Muncie, Jim (Rosie) Hamilton of Goshen, Tom (Michele) Hamilton of Fort Wayne, Bob (Lynn) Hamilton of North Manchester, Bill (Theresa) Hamilton of Wabash, Ed (Cindy) Hamilton of Alexandria, and Barbara (Roger) Hundley of Wabash; 22 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; two brothers, Dan Campbell of Upland, and Earl (Ada) Campbell of Findlay, Ohio; and her sister, Irene Campbell of Summitville.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Lawrence Joseph Hamilton Jr.; grandson, Larry Dan Hamilton; three brothers; and four sisters.
Funeral services will take place at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 188 W. Sinclair St., Wabash, Saturday at 10:30 a.m.
Burial will be in the Garden of St. Bernard in Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Ave., Wabash, where a Rosary service will be recited at 7 p.m.
