Lakeland, Fla. — Dion “Don” Nusbaum 74, formerly of Goshen, Ind., died following a stroke March 23 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 9, 1939 in Goshen, to Theodore A. and Gladys E. (Hartzler) Nusbaum.
On Aug. 24, 1968, he married Sharon Kay “Shari” Kilmer in Goshen at United Church of Christ.
She survives along with three daughters, Tamara Sisk, Mesa, Ariz., Linda Jean Nusbaum, Elkhart, Ind., and Cynthia Ann Jones, Goshen.; a son, Bradley Eugene Nusbaum, Lott, Texas; five grandchildren; a great-grandson; and two brothers, Dennis L. Nusbaum, Jackson, Mich., and Richard Nusbaum, Sarasota, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Sharon Lantz.
A 1957 graduate of Goshen High School, Mr. Nusbaum spent most of his working life in the Goshen area working at Frederich Tool, Benteler Industries and retired from Anderson-Boling as plant manager in 1996. From 1996 to 2002, he owned and operated Dion’s Service Company, a trucking and consulting service.
He was a 30-year member of Maplecrest Country Club, the Moose Lodge and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, all of Goshen and American Legion Bristol Post 143. He attended First Presbyterian Church in Goshen, when be was in Indiana. While in Florida, he was a member of North Lakeland Presbyterian Church and Sand Pipers Country Club.
Friends may call Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, 1911 S. Main St., Goshen, where a funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Alan Griffin of First Presbyterian Church, Goshen, will lead the service.
Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery, Goshen.
