Ernest Chupp 97, died Monday night at Greencroft Goshen Health Care.
He was born Nov. 29, 1915 in Elkhart County, to Henry and Fannie (Weirick) Chupp.
On Jan. 15, 1939, he married Elsie Miller who survives.
He is also survived by two sons, Delbert L. (Janice) Chupp, Elkhart, and Ron M. (MaryColette) Chupp, Jim Thorpe, Pa.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Garber; four sisters, Susie Eash, Minnie Hostetler, Mary Hershberger and Margaret Chupp; and a brother, Ora Chupp.
Mr. Chupp spent most of his life in Elkhart County, owning and operating Chupp’s Garage. As a member of Gideons International, he volunteered his time in jail ministry in Goshen.
Friends may call Friday from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen. The Rev. Brian Whidden of Calvary Assembly of God will officiate.
Burial will follow at Prairie Street Cemetery, Elkhart.
