LIGONIER — Russell H. Patton, 98, passed away Tuesday at 3:20 p.m. at Parkview Noble Hospital, Kendallville.
He was born Dec. 15, 1914, to James and Viola (Holden) Patton.
On Dec. 13, 1940, he married Lillian Fowler, who preceded him in death in 1997.
He had worked as an inspector for Johnson Controls in Goshen where he had perfect attendance. He had a love for fishing and woodworking. He also enjoyed home repairs and yard work.
Surviving are one son, Joseph (Stella) Patton, Ligonier; three daughters, Norma (Homer) Reeve, and Gloria (Richard) Fought, both of Ligonier, and Caroline (Robert) Hart, Fort Wayne; 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Barbara Dispennett.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two sisters, Elizabeth Juday and Catherine Reed; and five brothers, Sam Sr., Edward, James, Richard and Robert Patton.
There will be a time of visitation Monday from 1 p.m. until the 3 p.m. funeral service honoring Mr. Patton at Yeager Funeral Home with Celebrant Larry Baker officiating.
Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery in Ligonier.
