James Ray Larimer

GOSHEN — James Ray Larimer, 71, Goshen, died Friday at IU Health Goshen Hospital.

He was born Nov. 14, 1942, in Goshen, to Robert and Rebecca (Baringer) Larimer.

He is survived by a sister, Susan (Jerry) Schrock of Syracuse; a brother-in-law, Don Thompson of Millersburg; four nieces, Patricia Schrock, Betsy Korsmo, Michele Larimer and Nicole Sidwell; and a nephew, George Robert Schrock.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, George Larimer; and a sister, Carol Thompson.

He worked for NIPSCO doing regulator repair.

He was a member of the First United Church of Christ, Goshen, and a 1961 graduate of Millersburg High School.

Affiliations

He was a past post and district commander with the American Legion, and a past northern vice commander and past state membership chairman with the Legion, as well. He was a member American Legion Post 484, Millersburg, Goshen VFW Post 985, Goshen Lodge 12 Free & Accepted Masons, Scottish Rite Valley of South Bend, Orak, Temple Shriner, Michigan City.

Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, Goshen, where the funeral will take place at 2 p.m. The Rev. Linda Sue Hewitt will officiate.

Burial will be in Brown Cemetery, Millersburg.
