BREMEN — William J. Chupp, age 93, Bremen, died peacefully at 12:01 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, at his residence.
He was born Aug. 23, 1920, in Kosciusko County to John C. and Susan (Yoder) Chupp. He was a lifetime area resident.
On Nov. 10, 1949, he married Mary Hochstetler in Kosciusko County. Mr. Chupp was a retired farmer and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mary; daughter, Wilma J. Weaver, Bremen; grandchildren, Juanita (Greg) Dick, Loren (Rita) Slabaugh and Jerry J. Slabaugh III, all of Orange, Texas, Galen (Laura) Slabaugh, Monroe, N.C., Teresa (Tim) Dawson and Jeffrey (Rhonda) Slabaugh, both of Elkhart; 10 great grandchildren; nine step great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and six step-great-greatgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son-in-law, Jerry J. Slabaugh Jr; and a grandson, Joseph Niles F. Slabaugh.
Family and friends may call after 1 p.m. today and all day Monday at the Matt Schmucker residence (5311 East County Line Road). Funeral services will take place there Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, at 9:30 a.m. Home Ministry of the Old Order Amish Church will officiate and burial will be in Cedar Road Cemetery.
