GOSHEN — LaMar Null, 71, of Goshen died Friday at IU Health Goshen Hospital.

He was born in Elkhart County on July 30, 1942 to Mary Elizabeth (Lechlitner) Null and Lloyd W. Null.

On May 5, 2001 he married Wanda (Copeland) Null who survives.

Also surviving are daughters, Rachel (Troy) Owen, of Kimmell, Jill (Lanny) Doty, of New Paris and Shelly Threlkeld; son, Shannon (Sara) Threlkeld, of Bloomington; sisters Rose (John) Hewett, of Farmington Hills, Mich., Shirley Nulll, of South Bend and Cheryl (Dave) Ewers, of Huntertown; brothers, Daniel (Carol) Null, of Mishawaka and Robert (Nute) Null, of Hawaii and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

LaMar was a plant supervisor at Elixer, retiring in 2008. He was a carriage driver at Q & K Carriages and was also employed part-time for many years at the South Side Soda Shop.

He was a member of the National Guard for six years and a part of the Pony Express Riders.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Tuesday at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Goshen.

Services will be held at 12 p.m. at the funeral home on Tuesday, officiated by the Rev. Ruben Chupp. He will be buried in Elkhart Prairie Cemetery.

Three Goshen elementary schools — Chandler, Chamberlain and West Goshen — are providing free meals to all students during the school year as part of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Community Eligibility Provision of the Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010. Nearly 80 percent of students at Chandler, 89 percent of students at Chamberlain and 78 percent of students at West Goshen already qualify for free or reduced-price lunches based on their family income.
