---- — GOSHEN — Verlo R. Yoder, 70, died Wednesday evening at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. He had been ill for several years.

He was born Oct. 24, 1943 in Nappanee, to Roman and Cora (Hochstetler) Yoder.

He is survived by his former wife and caregiver, Jan McManus Yoder, Goshen; three children; Elaine (Greg) Hite, Rossville, Devon (Bev) Yoder and Cindy Fager, both of Goshen; six grandchildren; a brother, Fred (Sandra) Yoder, Manitowac, Wis.; and two sisters, Becky (Mahlon) Petre, Renieck, W.Va., and Rosemary (David) Yoder, Grantsville, Md.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Verlo was a lifelong area resident and professional photographer who owned his own business, Studio 33, from 1986 to 2009. Prior to that, he was employed at Starcraft for 18 years and was a partner at Troyer Studio, Goshen.

He was a past president of the Michiana Professional Photographers and a member of the Indiana Professional Photographers and DeGara Club. He was also a former member of the Goshen Jaycees.

Mr. Yoder enjoyed reading his Bible, time spent with his family and his dog, Buster, antique tractors, collecting farm toys, reading and learning about World War II and Civil War history.

While he was able, he attended People’s Bible Church until his health declined.

Friends may call from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen, where a funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Monday. The Rev. John Randolph of People’s Bible Church will officiate.

Burial will follow at Sugar Grove Cemetery, Goshen.
