GOSHEN — Melba F. Martin, 73, Greencroft Drive, died Monday at 9:30 a.m. at her residence.
She was born Oct. 11, 1939, in Harrison Township, Elkhart County, to Oscar R. and Bessie (Hoover) Weaver.
She married Willard “Dick” Martin Dec. 15, 1962, at Yellow Creek Mennonite Church. He died Dec. 11, 2009.
She is survived by her sisters, Deloris (Wilbur) Babcock, Fort Collins, Colo., Leona (Marvin) Schmucker, Wichita, Kan., and Judy (Kenneth) King, Hutchinson, Kan.; and brothers, Truman (Elnora) Weaver and Rodney (Pat) Weaver, both of Goshen, and Owen (Pat) Weaver, Elkhart.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
She worked in office administration at Mennonite Board of Missions, Elkhart, retiring after 26 years.
She was a member of College Mennonite Church, Goshen, and was active in Women’s Fellowship and the Bridge Builders Sunday school class at Yellow Creek Mennonite Church. She was a member of the Lay Diabetic Society and the Cooperative Extension Homemakers Club, where she was active in crafts.
Friends may call Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Koinonia Room of College Mennonite Church, 1900 S. Main St., Goshen, where a funeral service will begin at 4:30 p.m. The Revs. Pamela Yoder and Phil Waite, both of the church, will officiate.
Burial will be in Yellow Creek Cemetery at a later date.
