Erma M. Frye

WAKARUSA — Erma M. Frye, 90, died at 7:55 p.m. Saturday at Elkhart General Hospital.

She was born Dec. 22, 1922 in Elkhart County, to Nelson W. and Marie (Whitehead) Clipp.

She married Floyd R. Drake Feb. 6, 1941, he died June 23, 1981. She then married E. Jay Frye Jan. 23, 1991. He died Oct. 8, 1998.

Her survivors are two daughters, Susan (Rick) Vandegrift and Debra (Marvin) Witmer, both of Wakarusa; and one stepdaughter, Beth Frye, St. Petersburg, Fla.; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her two husbands, parents, and a sister, Bessie Wood.

She was owner and operator of Drakes Jewelry Store in Wakarusa, retiring in 1987. She was a spot welder for Adlake, Elkhart. She was a member of Wakarusa United Methodist Church, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Wakarusa Historical Society. She enjoyed a lifetime of cooking and working in her garden and yard.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret-Lienhart Funeral Home, 117 W. Waterford St., Wakarusa.

There will be one hour of visitation prior to the 10 a.m. funeral service Thursday at Wakarusa United Methodist Church. The Rev. Ed Geleske of Wakarusa United Methodist Church will officiate.

Burial will be at Violett Cemetery, Goshen.

I think it’s an excellent idea that is way overdue
I think it’s a bad idea and would be restrictive for students and parents.
