Nettie Mast

SHIPSHEWANA — Nettie Mast, 83, died at 1:30 a.m. Monday at her residence.

She was born Oct. 6, 1929, in Lagrange County, to Chris L. and Alma (Eash) Miller.

On Nov. 2, 1950, in LaGrange County, she married Henry E. Mast. He survives.

Survivors in addition to her husband are a daughter, Carolyn (Christy) Miller of Lagrange; three sons, Elroy (Cheryl) Mast, Cletus (Carol “Boom”) Mast and Elson (Toy LeAnn) Mast, all of Ligonier; a son-in-law, Dan Beechy of Sarasota, Fla.;13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mary Miller of Middlebury, Wilma (Floyd) Bontrager of Topeka, Ruby (Jerry) Miller of Shipshewana and Katie Miller of Nappanee; and two brothers, Cletus (Mary) Miller of Middlebury and Elvon (Louida) Miller of Topeka.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Leah F. Beechy; two sisters, LeAnna Miller and Ida Miller; and a brother, Perry Miller.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

Visitation will be after 1 p.m. Tuesday and all day Wednesday at the Christy Miller residence, 7620 W. 050 North, LaGrange.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, also at the Christy Miller residence. Services will be conducted by Bishop Chris Bontrager and the home ministers. Burial will be in East Barren Cemetery, Shipshewana.

Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, Middlebury, is handling arrangements.
