CANTON, Ga. — Joseph Robert Warnick, loved by family and friends, passed away March 19. He was 79.
“Joe” was born in 1934 in Goshen, Ind. to Clara Swoveland and Robert Warnick.
A graduate of Goshen High School in 1952, he served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1956. He graduated from Purdue University with a degree in mechanical engineering in 1959. His career as an aeronautical engineer spanned 40 years with the Lockheed Aircraft Company in Burbank, Calif. and in Marietta, Ga. Joe was a proud member and registrar for the Atlanta Chapter of the Georgia Society Sons of the American Revolution.
Joe was a loving husband and companion of 52 years to his wife, Audrey Elizabeth (Hession) Warnick, who survives him.
He was a devoted father to his three children, Elizabeth, Joseph Jr. and Andrew; their spouses and eight grandchildren; and brother to Stanley Warnick, who survive him.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father.
A private service for family and friends will take place at a later date.
The Cremation Society of Georgia, Atlanta, is assisting the family.
