GOSHEN — Nancy D. Earl-Johansen, 75, died Monday at Kindred Hospital in Mishawaka.

She was born May 12, 1938, in Three Rivers, Mich., daughter of George and Helen (Beebe) Baker.

From June 1958 to April 1975 she was married to Richard L. Earl Sr. and they created two children, Rick and Kathy. In July 1983, she married Walter Johansen, who preceded her in death in April 1993.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathy (Gary) Roth of Shipshewana; stepchildren, Marybeth (Joe) Kasperlik and June Johansen, both of Grand Rapids, Mich., Linda (Ron) Morgan of Willmington, N.C., and Martin (Pam) Johansen of Edwardsburg, Mich.; seven stepgrandchildren; 10 stepgreat-grandchildren; a brother, Doug (Gladys) Baker of Naples, Fla.; a sister, Barb (Bill) Buenger of Camarillo, Calif.; three nephews; two nieces; two grandnieces; and four grandnephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Richard Earl Jr. who died in 2012; daughter-in-law, Dawn Earl, who died in 2009; and an infant brother, Fredrick Baker.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hackman Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis, Mich.

Services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at Forks Mennonite Church, 11435 W. 025 South, Middlebury.

Memorial donations may be directed to Forks Mennonite Church, American Diabetes Association or American Cancer Society.

Three Goshen elementary schools — Chandler, Chamberlain and West Goshen — are providing free meals to all students during the school year as part of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Community Eligibility Provision of the Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010. Nearly 80 percent of students at Chandler, 89 percent of students at Chamberlain and 78 percent of students at West Goshen already qualify for free or reduced-price lunches based on their family income.
