KOKOMO — Lola M. Mast, 96, passed away at 10:25 a.m. Wednesday at her residence.

She was born in Miami County July 9, 1917, the daughter of Niles and Sadie Hoffman Slabaugh.

Lola married Gerald R. Mast in her home, Dec. 29, 1938. He preceded her in death Sept. 4, 1997.

Lola was a 1935 graduate of Clay Township High School and she was the last living member of her class. She was a member of the Howard-Miami Mennonite Church. Lola lovingly raised her family and lived her entire life in the home where she was born. Lola and Gerald wintered in Florida for several years.

Lola is survived by her daughters, Waneta (Don) Haarer and Joyce (Jerry) Golden, both of Goshen; son, Weldon (Linda) Mast, Kokomo; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a son-in-law, Clifford Frey, Goshen.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gerald; sisters, Beatrice and Vera; brother, Truman; an infant brother, Ralph Emerson; and a daughter, Wanda Mast Frey.

A service celebrating the life of Lola M. Mast will begin at 3 p.m. Saturday at Howard-Miami Mennonite Church with the Rev. Harold Mast officiating. Burial will follow at Mast Cemetery.

Family and friends will gather from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the church, prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Howard-Miami Mennonite Church.
