MIDDLEBURY — Peggy Ann Blake, 79, 527 S. Main St., died unexpectedly at 10:58 p.m. Friday at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne.

She was born July 24, 1934, in Weaverville, N.C.

Peggy was the mother of four boys and two girls with her husband, James VanProyen, and a son with her husband, James Cavan.

In 1996, she married Daniel Blake, who survives.

Peggy dedicated her life to caring for others. Whether family or strangers, she worked selflessly to bring happiness to those around her.

Peggy was preceded in death by sons, Lee and Steven VanProyen.

Surviving are sons, Toby VanProyer of Cottonwood, Ariz., John VanProyen of Phoenix, Ariz. and Joshua Cavan of Valparaiso; and daughters, Julie Whiteside of Noblesville and Jennifer White of Wetmore, Mich.

Peggy was also blessed with 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life service will take place at the family home on her birthday July 24 for all who loved her.
