Lawrence S. Daniels

July 31, 1931-April 20, 2013

TOPEKA — Lawrence S. Daniels, 81, died early Saturday afternoon at the Center for Hospice, Elkhart.

He was born July 31, 1931, in Noble County, to Emmett and Lulia (Hobbs) Daniels.

On Jan. 13, 1967, he married Elizabeth (Whirledge) Schrock in Covington, Ky.

He is survived by two stepsons, Philip (Sheryl) Schrock, South Bend, and Dennis (Arlene) Schrock, St. Charles, Ill.; five  grandchildren, Elizabeth (Brian) Misenar, Colette (William) Johnson, Bradley (Linda) Schrock, Matthew (Teresa) Schrock and Daniel (Laura) Schrock; and nine great-grandchildren, Lily and Everly Misenar, Grace, William and Lexie Johnson, and Breanne, Ashley, Gabrielle and Thomas Schrock.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brothers; sisters; and a granddaughter, Valerie Lyn Schrock.

Mr. Daniels was a lifelong area resident after serving with the U.S. Army. He was a Prudential insurance agent and farmer. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed traveling around the world.

He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Fish Lake. Most recently he had been attending St. Peters Lutheran.

There will be a 1 p.m. Thursday Memorial service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen. Bill Johnson, husband of Lawrence’s granddaughter, will officiate.

Cremation will take place with a private family burial later at Eden Cemetery, Topeka.

Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church of Millersburg.
