Theodore Stouder Jr.

GOSHEN — Theodore Stouder Jr., 84, died unexpectedly Wednesday afternoon at IU Health Goshen Hospital.

He was born Aug. 2, 1928 in Goshen, to Theodore L. and Ruby (Good) Stouder.

On July 25, 1948, he married Helen Nusbaum in Goshen.

She survives along with two sons, Randy (Michelle) Stouder, Elkhart, and Brad Stouder, Goshen; four grandsons; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Phyllis Blough, Goshen.

Mr. Stouder served in the United States Navy 1946 to 1948.  He owned and operated Stouder’s Custom Home Builders until his retirement.  

He was a member of the Goshen Veterans of Foreign Wars and Middlebury American Legion.  He served on the Goshen Hospital Board in the 1970s and was also involved in the Goshen High School Building Trades program.

A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m. April 30 at Manor II, 1425 Greencroft Drive, Goshen.

According to his wishes, his body will be cremated.  Burial will be in West Goshen Cemetery.

There has been discussion at West Goshen Elementary School to require mandatory student uniforms in the future. How do you feel about the prospect of mandatory student uniforms in a public school environment?

I think it’s an excellent idea that is way overdue
I think it’s a bad idea and would be restrictive for students and parents.
