Eva Marie Stutzman

Sept. 19, 1938 - Nov. 26, 2009

Eva Marie Stutzman, 71, 420 Westwood Road, Goshen, died at 12:40 a.m. Thursday at her home. She had been ill since October, 2006.

She was born Sept. 19, 1938 at New Paris to Jency and Lovina (Garber) Hershberger.

She lived in the Goshen area all her life, except for several years in Toto. She was a homemaker, worked in nursing homes, and worked part-time as a receptionist at Vance Weaver Realty. She was assistant director at The Window and worked as a sales clerk at the former Provident Book Store in Goshen for 13 years.

She was a 1956 graduate of Bethany Christian High School and member of Pleasant View Mennonite Church. Her family cared for about 60 foster children in the past.

She was married to Melvin Stutzman on Oct. 17, 1958 at Clinton Frame Mennonite Church.

He survives, with a daughter, Carla (Bob) Mathis, Goshen; two sons, Steve (Rachel) Stutzman, Topeka, Kan., and Kermit (Pauline) Stutzman, Middlebury; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandsons; four sisters, Rosie Hershberger, Goshen, Linda (Richard) Wogoman, Granger, Thelma (Richard) Ramer, Goshen, and Betty (Dave) Schmid, Granger; and two brothers, Richard (Kathy) Hershberger, Palm Beach Shores, Fla., and Arthur (Jane) Hershberger, Dillwyn, Va.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Terry Hershberger.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.

A memorial service is set at 11 a.m. Monday at Pleasant View Mennonite Church. Private family graveside services are planned at Yellow Creek Cemetery, Goshen. Officiating will be Pastors Ron Diener and Tyler Hartford, from Pleasant View Mennonite Church.
