Richard Alan Best

Sept. 30, 1922-Nov. 16, 2009

Richard Alan Best, 87, 1003 Elizabeth, Republic, Mo., a lifetime Nappanee resident, died Monday at his home after a five-month illness.

He was born Sept. 30, 1922 at Nappanee.

He was married Sept. 24, 1944 to Maryellen Neterer at Nappanee.

She survives, with a son, Randall (Karen) Best, Massillon, Ohio; and three daughters, Cynthia (Roger) Heckaman, Syracuse, Cathlin Stuntz, Republic, Mo., and Elizabeth (Phil) Keiser, Sauk City, Wis.

Friends may call Saturday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, as well as one hour prior to the services, which will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at First Brethren Church, Nappanee.

Burial will be in South Union Cemetery.
