Mary Ruth Bontrager, 50, of 7750 West 075 North, Shipshewana, died at 12 a.m. Saturday at her residence, after a 4 1/2 year battle with cancer.
She was born July 29, 1959, in Goshen, to Menno N. and Alice (Beechy) Yoder.
On June 21, 1979, in Shipshewana she married Chris H. Bontrager.
She was a homemaker and was a member of Old Order Amish Church.
Surviving in addition to her husband and her parents are three sons, Leon (Carolyn) Bontrager and Lynn (Sue Ann) Bontrager of Shipshewana and Michael (Sara) Bontrager of Goshen; six grandchildren; three sisters, Nora (Merle) Mullet, Marie (Glen) Kuhns and Dorothy (Ben) Yoder, all of Middlebury; five brothers, Wilbur (Cindy) Yoder, LaGrange, DeWayne (Wilma) Yoder, LaGrange, Elva (Leola) Yoder, Middlebury, Daniel (Vera) Yoder, Goshen, and Mervin (Anna) Yoder, Goshen.
Visitation will be after 1 p.m. today and all day Monday at the DeWayne Schrock residence, 7765 West 075 North, Shipshewana.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, at the Calvin Miller residence, 0700 North Ind. 5, Shipshewana. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Gary Lambright, the Rev. Calvin Miller, and Bishop Amos Yoder. Burial will be in East Barren Cemetery, Shipshewana.
