Kris (Ledbetter) Olsen

Nov. 22, 1949-Oct. 22, 2009

TUCSON, Ariz. — Kris Olsen, 59, formerly of Goshen, Ind., died of cancer Oct. 22 in her home.

She was born Nov. 22, 1949 to Arlene (Coffing) and Sherman Ledbetter of Goshen, Ind. She graduated from Concord High School, Elkhart, Ind., in 1967. In 2002, she married Dennis Olsen of Tucscon. He survives.

Other survivors include her three children, Vicky Aultman, Albuquerque, N.M., Becky Jouden, Goodwell, Okla., and Kim Wright, Tucson; 11 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; her mother, Arlene Monroe, Bristol, Ind.; her brothers, Mark (Patricia) Ledbetter, Bristol, Ind., and Tim Ledbetter, Lexington, Ky.; and her sister, Vicki (Bruce) Roberts, Minneapolis, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Steve Ledbetter; her father, Sherman Ledbetter; and Harold Bruce Monroe, her stepfather.

Kris spent 20 years in the military. During her service with the United States Air Force, Kris spent time overseas. During her last assignment, she was stationed at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. After retiring from the Air Force Nov. 19, 1991, Kris worked as a medical technician for area Tucson medical facilities.

Following cremation, Kris’ ashes will be interred Nov. 7 at 1 p.m. at the Santa Cruz Lutheran Church in Tucson.

Desert Rose Funeral Home, 2750 S. Fourth St., Tuscon, is assisting the family with arrangements.
